Fund Summary The investment seeks capital appreciation. The fund invests primarily in the stock of companies that it believes are undervalued compared to their perceived worth (value companies). While the fund may invest in companies of any size, it generally focuses on companies with large capitalizations. The fund may invest in foreign securities and derivatives.

Gorham is the investment officer and value equity portfolio manager responsible for final buy and sell decisions, portfolio construction, risk control and cash management. He participates in the research process and strategy discussions. Joined MFS in 1989 as a Teleservices Representative; promoted to a Marketing Representative in 1991; promoted to Equity Research Analyst in 1992 following U.S. media, paper and forest products, and cellular telephones.
